Using the Systems

Now that you have connected to a login node, you are ready to start using NHR@KIT resources.

Please read before you start

Familiarize yourself with the Terms of Use & Policies before using the systems. They cover your responsibilities as a user and prohibited activities.

Acknowledgement required

All work performed on NHR@KIT infrastructure must be acknowledged in publications and status reports. The required acknowledgement text depends on the cluster you are using — see Project Duties & Acknowledgements.

Usage

The Usage section covers day-to-day interaction with the systems: logging in, transferring data, managing storage, and submitting jobs via the Slurm batch system. Software is made available through the module system.

Services

Services provides browser-based and graphical access to the cluster. Jupyter lets you run interactive notebooks directly on compute nodes, while Code Editors enable remote development without leaving your IDE.

Software

The Software section covers the available compilers, parallel programming models, and containers, as well as tools for debugging and performance optimization.
