Connecting to NHR@KIT Systems¶
After completing registration, you can connect to NHR@KIT systems using the following methods.
VPN required
Outside the KIT network, a VPN connection is required to access NHR@KIT systems. For setup instructions, see the VPN section.
SSH¶
The default method to connect to HoreKa 2 and HAICORE 3.0 is via SSH. The login nodes are:
hk2-x86.scc.kit.edu- for x86_64 systemshk2-a64.scc.kit.edu- for ARM64 systems
FTP login nodes:
ftp-x86.scc.kit.edu- for x86 nodesftp-a64.scc.kit.edu- for ARM64 nodes

Jupyter¶
Jupyter provides a web-based interface for interactive computing. The JupyterHub for HoreKa 2 is available at hk2-jupyter.scc.kit.edu.

Further Connection Methods¶
These methods are based on SSH and require an established SSH connection:
- Remote Visualization - VNC and graphical desktop access
- IDEs with Remote Access - VS Code and other IDEs for remote development
